German Army to stand up drone regiment in 2027
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced during a visit to the Experimental Series Land 2026 exercise that the Heer will establish a dedicated drone regiment in 2027, assigned to the 10th Panzer Division's divisional troops. The regiment will consolidate development, testing, and employment of unmanned systems, while integration of drones across the force will continue in parallel. Inspector of the Army Christian Freuding confirmed the plan.
