Russian frigate fires flares at Danish Fennec helicopter in Baltic Sea during routine photo mission
A Russian frigate fired two flares at a Danish Air Force Fennec helicopter photographing the vessel in international waters south of Gedser, Denmark. One flare passed close to the aircraft. Denmark summoned Russia's ambassador in protest. The incident occurred practically in front of the German Navy's Rostock base. Denmark described the helicopter mission as routine surveillance.
