French Air Force chief says no Rafale jets for Ukraine will come from operational squadrons

General Stéphane Mandon told the Senate that none of the 16 Rafale fighters earmarked for Ukraine under the July 2026 framework will be drawn from French Air Force operational units. The aircraft will come from production tranches 2026–27.
